Loma Vista Community Centers form the heart of Clovis' Loma Vista Village; population 30,000. This 272.5-acre mixed use core incorporates a 6-acre village green with high-density housing, municipal facilities and neighborhood services. The Village Green is currently under development and scheduled for completion in 2024 while the architecturally integrated Fire Station #6 opened its doors in September 2022
Dwight Kroll AICP envisioned and managed this project as Director of Clovis' Planning and Development Services Department
Located on historic central California valley ranch lands, Vista Ranch captures an authentic ranching legacy with world class views of the Sierra foothill region. This 509-acre site will incorporate 3286 residential units in a full-service community providing shopping, employment, public transit, an elementary school and over five miles of recreational and active transportation trails.
Vista Ranch lies adjacent to 4+ square mile regional recreation facility and within easy access to State Route 168.
Kroll and Associates was selected for project design for the Vista Ranch Masterplan which is currently in the design approval process with the City of Clovis.
Following the success of the 1983 specific plan, the central Clovis urban core was reevaluated under an update program in 2016. The resulting plan identified unique planning districts and applied development standards to ensure that this vital "heart of Clovis" will continue to flourish in the future.
Dwight Kroll authored, and project managed the preparation and implementation of this plan.
The California 911 Memorial Plaza was erected in 2001 as a west coast tribute to all safety personnel who perished in the 911 events in New York City.
In 2019, Dwight Kroll was asked to envision an update to the plaza in time for the twentieth anniversary of 911. The resulting design created a public space sundial utilizing shadows cast by the twin towers monument and flagpole to mark events as they unfolded in New York City, the Pentagon and Shanksville PA.
The plaza update was completed on time and within budget.
Heritage Grove is a four-square mile planned community in northwest Clovis that will incorporate a population of approximately 30,000 residents. Given its proximity to Clovis North High School and Clovis Community College, the design emphasis focuses on creating an academic and youthful component of the Clovis/Fresno metropolitan area.
Heritage Grove is heavily public transit and active transportation oriented and will create an environment where automobile ownership is unnecessary.
Dwight Kroll directed and project managed the development and adoption of these guidelines.
